Everybody wants to earn a degree today but like most people you feel a little lost on what to major in. On top of that your interests are rather specific and geeky. Never fear, there are plenty of degree available for you at most universities and online colleges. Here are some ideas.

Astronomy – If space is the final frontier, you will be found out in it. If you love science fiction, why not help make it a reality? Study the stars and galaxies far, far away. If endless hours in front of a telescope sounds like a perfect date to you, then this is where you should be. Granted this is no walk through the astral park. Plotting star charts is really hard. I know I have tried it before in an Astronomy class. It may even kill your love of the night sky, but then again, you might love it all the more.

Physics – Want to know how the above studies actually function? Do you know how subatomic particles function and what it means for our world? Does dark matter, matter to you? Is a super collider more than just when you meet the opposite gender? Sounds like physics may be right for you. Once again, this is no easy feat either. Lots of complicated math and concepts that would make Spock’s ears droop, but for those rarest of nerds it would be like heaven on earth.

Math – Yes, it’s obvious but if math is the universal language then you are fluent in it? Math is one of those core subjects fundamental to so many geeks everywhere. Somehow, they actually seem to enjoy it, although why I cannot fathom. If you are more like me try…

History – History? Geeky? If you spend most of your time learning about Medieval Europe, the Renaissance, or Feudal Japan then it sure as heck is. If Medieval Times sounds like a good time, this is probably for you. Is there anything more exciting than learning about ancient weapons, armor and battles? Yes! Acting them out! If you like live action roleplaying then what are you waiting for?

Literature – Enter the bookworm. Does not being in a book feel out of place? Have read The Lord of the Rings or King Arthur more than twice? Yeah, time to major in literature. In fact, you have probably dabbled in doing some fantasy writing of your own. If you think the pen is truly mightier than the above mention sword, then get reading! Are you in, or have been in the armed service? If so come to marine education to further your education today.

Now you might ask yourself, what will you do with these last two degrees? Why teach, of course. Inspire other geeks and nerds to reach the heights you yourself have. Look, getting a degree in something you enjoy is the first step in making a living you enjoy, and know you know, and knowing is half the battle.
